ANNA HENDERSON

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 

1987-1990          Townsville College of TAFE - First Class Honours - Studio Ceramics 

1990-2003          Built a successful art and pottery studio business, based in the New England Tableland region of NSW 

Exhibited many forms of pottery, sculpture and paintings at galleries in the New England and coastal regions. 

Exhibiting opportunities in galleries in Sydney and Brisbane.   

2000                  The Cannon Gallery, Argyle Street, Sydney 

2006- 2008        Curator, “ Crossing New England I,II and III” – An exhibition of selected artists from across the New England Area at the Armidale Gallery, Armidale. 

Currently lives and works from Guyra, NSW 

 

CURRENT WORK

Anna’s current work includes an exploration into acrylic abstract landscape work on canvas and paper with a special interest in the creation of various textures including sand, black japan, texture paste and medium. 

 

She has a ‘lifelong’ interest in ceramics, exploring raku and sagger firing, large sawdust fired hand built pieces - paper clay tiles, raku firing using copper based glazes and using slips and oxides with gold leaf and framed works.  

 

Anna’s work has been awarded numerous prizes and commendations in New South Wales and Queensland since 1997. Her work is held in collections in Australia and abroad.
