STUART BOGGS

Stuart Boggs is a contemporary landscape painter. He has lived in the New England area for most of his life. He was born in Inverell and currently lives in Armidale.

After completing a Bachelor of Science at the University of New England in Armidale he worked as a geologist in remote parts of the Northern Territory and New South Wales, where he gained his insight into the diverse Australian landscape.

Moving to Armidale gave Stuart the opportunity to commence his study of art at the Armidale TAFE campus where he completed a four-year painting certificate in 1990. Living and painting in France for two years broadened his painting style. Originally painting in watercolours he has diversified to acrylics and mixed media to capture the ever-changing environment.

Stuart has exhibited widely in the New England area including new England Regional Art Museum, Gallery 126 (Armidale), Weswal Gallery (Tamworth), Lake Russell Gallery (Coffs Harbour), Sweetwater Gallery (Bellingen), West Space (Melbourne), Depot Gallery (Danks St) and Holdsworth Galleries (Sydney). Commissioners include Blue Circle, Earl Page College, UNE.

Stuart’s paintings have been selected for many regional art exhibitions and prizes, and also the Conrad Jupiters Art Prize, Gold Coast City Art Gallery and The Mosman Art Prize

His paintings are housed in many private collections in Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, France and the United States of America.
